Some months ago I set up an instance of tsng1.4.1 and was able to create a number of accounts including a couple of 'admin' accounts.

A couple of weeks back I went to enter some more users ready to bring tsng into production use... but I can't seem to add any new accounts now.

On TSNG's User Admin page I get to enter the new user account details.

Clicking on "Add/Update Employee/Contractor" button takes the browser to the expected PHP page:
"http://MyWAMPServer/tsng14/user_action.php"

BUT...
I enter “a.einstein” (or any other username) and it is being ignored with 'admin' being substituted in its place. At that point TSNG rejects 'admin' as a duplicate of an existing username!

Here's the error message I see in my browser:

For the past 2 weeks I've been scouring the PHP files and scratching my head for any clue without success.

Time to call on experts.

Help please.

PS: I'm running TSNG on latest WampServer package on a Win2003Svr box with a number of other PHP Webapps that work as expected.
